by Katherine Rockwell

t The flowers most associated with the Cinese New Year are the plum blossom, the
peony and the water narcissus.

t Noodles served at New Year's meals should be uncut, as they represent long life.

wealth.

t The Lion Dance takes place throughout the first few days of the Chinese New Year and is supposed to bring good luck to the households and businesses that the lion visit. Each household or business hangs a bunch of vegetable leaves above the front door. The Choi Cheng or "Picking of the Greens" occurs when lion eats the leaves and then spits them out, signifying that there will be abundance in the coming year.
